New pricing with RC-1: four plans, and what happens to your license
Article
RC-1 is around the corner, and with it the beta ends. Until stable, no new features, just polish and fixes. It also brings a new pricing scheme: four plans instead of one license, each made for a different way of working.
If you bought a license during the beta or earlier, nothing is taken away. If it was Pro, you move to Studio, our top plan, at no cost when RC-1 ships.
If you bought before RC-1
| What you bought | It was called | Last sold at | Your plan from RC-1 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free plugin | Free, Community | Free | Community |
| One-site license | Single, later Website | $69 | Website |
| Multi-site license | Ultimate, Pro, Professional | $219 | Studio |
If your license was called Ultimate, Pro or Professional, it becomes Studio with RC-1. The version you bought was always the top tier, and that’s exactly what Studio is. We’re changing the name, not what you have. The new Professional is a different plan: the full builder without the platform tools, which is why it costs less. You were early, and it shows: Studio launches at $239.
If you bought before RC-1, your license stays lifetime, your sites and keys keep working, and if we ever add site limits for new licenses, yours stays unlimited. Before stable, you’ll also get a new account panel, with better license management and more benefits.
Buying from RC-1: four plans
All paid plans are lifetime. You pay once and keep it, and every one comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
| Plan | For | Launch price | From Dec 1 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Community | People building their own blog, portfolio or product page | Free | Free |
| Website | One important project, owned by whoever owns the site | $79 | $79 |
| Professional | Freelancers and agencies building for clients | $169 | $219 |
| Studio | People who want our frontier tools, and a partner’s seat while we build them | $239 | $299 |
Community is the visual builder, free. You get full design control, releases, and clean HTML and CSS.
Website and Professional are the same full builder, with code and complex data. The difference is who owns it. Website covers one site and belongs to the site owner, so you can build it and hand it over. Professional covers every site you build, and the license stays with you.
Studio is everything in Professional, plus the platform tools, beta releases, priority support and 25% affiliate commission.
What are platform tools?
Platform tools are what we build around the builder, for the work beyond building pages: Sense AI, static sites, remote deploy and HTML import. This is where much of our new work goes. Professional keeps growing with new builder features and refinements. Studio gets all of those too, plus new platform tools as we build them.
See the feature table for the exact differences between the plans. To be updated soon!
Launch pricing, and one rule
Launch prices run from RC-1 until Cyber Monday, November 30. Stable ships somewhere inside that window. From December 1, regular prices apply.
There’s one rule we set for ourselves: the launch price is the lowest Builderius will ever cost. Sales later on can go down to it, but never below. If you buy at the launch price, nobody gets a better deal after you.
Thank you, Builderians
To everyone who bought during the beta: you backed Builderius before it was done. You tested it, reported bugs and told us what to build next. Studio is out top tier, and you’re in it from day one.
