Builderius 1.3.6-beta Release Notes
August 14, 2026History and Commits, Persistent Tabs, and the First Round of UI/UX Improvements
This release brings a full history and commit system to the builder, makes tabs persistent and instant, and ships the first round of a multi step UI/UX overhaul focused on CSS workflow and the elements navigator.
This is the last beta release. The next release introduces the Visual CSS Grid Builder and the feature lock, after which only bug fixes and small tweaks land until stable. That makes the next release the first RC.
History, Undo and Redo
Added: Full change history with context aware undo and redo
Every change is tracked and recorded together with the context it was made in. Undo does not just reverse a value, it opens the page, template, or component where the change happened, and the editor panel where it was made. You always see what is being undone and where.
Commits and Preview
Added: Commit history with a non destructive preview mode
Global save states are stored in the development branch as commits. Preview mode lets you inspect any commit state without reverting to it, and you can navigate the entire website while in preview.
Changes are detected per commit. Builderius provides ways to inspect where changes were made in each commit, so you can review them before deciding to revert.
Persistent Tabs
Added: Builderius tabs now persist and switch instantly
Switching between tabs is faster and no longer fires any save you did not initiate. Open tabs stay open after closing the site or the browser entirely, so you continue exactly where you left off.
WordPress Admin Bar
Added: Open the active template or page in Builderius from the admin bar
One link in the WordPress admin bar opens whatever you are currently viewing directly in the builder.
UI/UX Improvements, Round One
This is the first step in a multi step process. More rounds follow.
UI clarity:
- Added: All icon based buttons now provide tooltips on hover
Elements navigator:
- Added: Rename elements from the navigator, by double click or right click
- Added: Context menu entries for Rename, Auto-BEM, Wrap in, and Expand Children
- Added: Reorder favorited elements by drag and drop
HTML tags:
- Added: Change the HTML tag of an element from any element tab, Style and Content both
CSS code editor:
- Changed: The CSS toggle button moved to the top row. One click opens the CSS code at any point, and it stays open until you close it.
- Changed: What you see now follows selection. Nothing selected shows all CSS, an element selected shows element CSS, a selector selected shows selector CSS.
CSS scope:
- Added: Scope toggles are now visible in the style panel under the class input, and classes and selectors are colored by scope. Together they make it obvious where styles are coming from.
- Fixed: Template scope CSS now shows only in template scope, not in global.
Styling panel:
- Added: The panel now lists added classes along with any selectors influencing the element, including parent based and element based selectors, so all of them can be inspected and edited in one place.
-
Changed: The
%local%selector is now always visible in all modes.
Canvas:
- Added: Drag to resize the canvas independently of sidebar size, with breakpoints updating accordingly.
Release Export
Pro:
- Added: ACF and Metabox options page configs included in release export data.
Bug Fixes
Free:
- Fixed: Release creation date bug that caused issues for static site generation.
Pro:
- Fixed: Remote deploy now includes custom taxonomies.
