Builderius Free 1.0 Developer Preview Alpha is Ready
June 10, 2024After countless hours, days, and months of hard work, we’re ready to present the newly reinvented Builderius. We’ve literally rebuilt the product from the ground up, changing almost everything except our core vision of a visual builder with ultimate flexibility, a more efficient workflow, and an easier learning curve.
The developer preview alpha is here, and we can’t wait for you to try it.

Here’s what will be happening over the next days:
In the coming hours, we’re reaching out to our carefully compiled list of developers, WordPress professionals, and product supporters who’ve been following our progress. This Developer Preview Alpha serves one main purpose: gathering real feedback on the fundamental technologies and UI patterns we’ve established.
This is genuinely an alpha build. You’ll encounter bugs we’re already tracking, and several planned features aren’t included yet. We’re being upfront about this because your early feedback shapes what comes next.
Following the developer preview period, we’ll launch the Public Alpha. This version opens to everyone through a dedicated page on our website, incorporating the improvements and fixes from your feedback.
Here is what is included in this version:

- General workflow and UI design patterns β The foundation of everything that comes next, rebuilt with months of feedback and testing.
- The Module Inserter β Enhanced element insertion workflow for adding any HTML element to your designs.
- The Modules Structure Tree β Visual hierarchy management for understanding and organizing your page structure.
- The Responsive Canvas β Clean, efficient responsive design environment for testing across device sizes.
- The Global Breakpoints β Create and manage custom responsive breakpoints instead of being locked into predefined assumptions.
- The Template Switcher β Improved template management with enhanced conditional logic for precise template targeting.
- Components with Properties β Currently limited to built-in Header and Footer components, with the foundation for custom components coming in Pro.
- CSS Variables Manager β Create and manage design system variables that update across your entire site.
- CSS Selectors Manager β Visual interface for local selectors and global classes with the power to scale as complex as needed.
- CSS Code Mode β Direct code access when you need complete control over your styles, fully synced with visual controls.
- Simple CSS Framework β Clean, modern CSS foundation without the bloat of traditional frameworks.
- Modules Content Settings β Content management interface (partially implemented, available on some modules with more coming).
- CSS Settings β Current temporary input fields that sync with CSS Code Mode (interface improvements coming).
- Native WordPress dynamic data support β Default post loops, menu links, post data, and standard WordPress content (custom queries and repeaters coming in Pro).
- Simple ACF fields and Meta Box fields β Basic custom field integration for extending WordPress content.
This alpha contains the core technologies and interface patterns that everything else builds upon. Many features are still partial implementations, and you’ll encounter bugs we’re actively tracking and fixing.

Let’s build Builderius together
We’re thrilled to enter this new phase of development. Your feedback directly influences not just bug fixes, but feature priorities and interface decisions for both the free and professional versions.
This isn’t just about testing software β it’s about proving that WordPress visual development can be both beginner-friendly and professionally powerful. We think we’re onto something significant here, but we need your real-world perspective to make it everything it should be.
